About
A daily reminder that the world is also good.
The Uplift is a small, independent publication for people who want to start the morning with something hopeful. We're not a news site. We don't chase virality. We pick one or two human stories, tell them with care, and stop.
Since 2024, readers in more than sixty countries have made us part of their breakfast. We're honored, and we take it seriously.

How we choose
Hope, not hype
We publish stories, not headlines. No urgency, no alarm, no all-caps. If we can't tell it calmly, we don't tell it.
People before pageviews
Every piece answers one question: will the reader feel better than when they arrived? If not, we don't run it.
Photography first
A single good image, generous whitespace, and words that earn their place. Nothing designed to grab — everything designed to welcome.
Slow enough to matter
One edition, once a day, five minutes long. You can read the whole thing. That's the point.
The small team
Three people, a shared inbox, and a lot of tea. Say hello any time.
Iris Moreau
Editor
Former science writer. Believes captions should be as good as the photo.
Sam Okafor
Photo editor
Chooses the images. Cries at the good ones, publishes them anyway.
